Holloween Scarecrow
So there I was standing in the dark deserted forest waiting for the sun to go down…
My homemade scarecrow balancing precariously on a dead tree stump, the branch I had collected the week before for this purpose would not stand up and the near frozen ground was just rejecting my futile digging attempts. Thermometer sitting at around 5 degrees Celsius, it was a cloudless, eerie night. Slowly the occasional dog walker walking past became fewer and further between and I finally found myself alone in the forest clearing. I had setup a flashgun in the pumpkin head that I had carved out (my first ever pumpkin carving) and my rain coat blowing gently in the night breeze making up my scarecrow, I waited patiently for the light to drop even further. Tripod setup with camera on top, all good to go I am convinced I heard a wolf howling in the distance. Finally the light was just right and I got to release the shutter with a nice long 30 second exposure. Then quickly packed up mr scarecrow man and my equipment and hiked back home to a lovely fire and nice glass of red.
